MNT is the rewarding mechanism for Minutes Network users and facilitators through which Minutes Network shares the value of low-cost international calling with the network's participants, forming the backbone of a new sharing economy whereby the recipients of international voice calls can realise usable value.
MNT is a limited supply token. Only 500,000,000 will ever be minted. All tokens will have been released to the market across the first five years of Minutes Network's services commencing operation.
The MNT tokenomics model has consciously and deliberately built in a degree of holder protection. Whilst we cannot make any projections or promises on future MNT value, the distribution model seeks to avoid several recognised crypto project potential pitfalls.
The founders cannot exit any time soon as their tokens are subject to the 60-months algorithmic release programme.
A capital efficiency decay protects stakers from would-be aggressive over-staking.
The capped supply and on-going burn elements protect holders from unscrupulous off-chain minting and token deflation.
Whilst ownership of tokens gives holders rewards-based access to products and services on favourable terms, it confers no rights as to equity, decision making or control of Minutes Network Ltd or Minutes Network Token LLC. As such, we characterise the token as an unregulated utility token. As a by-product of the token's commercial value, we expect that they will be readily tradeable on secondary markets.
